Here are some examples of the year 7s clay birds that they made at the start of the year. Last year they made clay animals in year 7s (see here), but we changed it this year for some variety. Each student had to make their own pinch pot, then build their bird around this.
There were a few explosions this time, as some didn’t have any air holes. It is such an awful feeling when you open the kiln to find a crumbled mess! The students got there in the end, and here are a selection of some of them…I think they very cute and full of character!
