Here are some photos of the clay animals that the year 7s made last year (2009/2010). They started off by making hollow pinch pots, then added arms, wings, heads etc with solid bits of clay.
I hadn’t done a lot of clay work with classes before this project, and it was a big learning curve for me. It’s very messy and can be a little stressful when you are worrying if the students’ work will make it out of the kiln in one piece!
This boy made a little red spider to go along with his kiwi bird, as they like to eat spiders.
